During my PhD at UC Berkeley, I loved making presentations and writing thesis chapters. To explore editing, I worked part-time for a large manuscript editing service. I edited hundreds of manuscripts and was promoted to Senior Editor based on my consistently high quality of work.

After grad school, I joined a start-up and began my industry career. I continued to write and edit, and I helped to write and revise a manuscript that was published in Nature. I also revised resumes and job applications for colleagues, which helped them to land new positions.

Moving on to Big Pharma, I continued to review and edit manuscripts for others, and I wrote and revised papers of my own. I also wrote an NIH grant application for Gordon Research Conference funding.
